In celebration of the Month of the Ocean, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Biodiversity Management Bureau (DENR-BMB) spearheaded a Biodiversity Festival on May 26-27, 2018 at Luneta Park, Roxas Boulevard, Ermita, Manila. On May 26 the nationwide campaign called #CleanSeasPilipinas was launched. Its global counterpart is spearheaded by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). On the second day of the festival, May 27, was a full-day sustainable art and music festival. This event became a venue in raising awareness and encouraging change in behavior and way of life of the people towards coastal and marine biodiversity conservation and sustainability.

MBCFI, as part of the technical working group, was invited to participate as one of the exhibitors of the said event. The organization setup a booth that showcased marine biodiversity photos of Apo Reef Natural Park (ARNP), sea birds found in Mindoro, and coastal related activities conducted for the past 10 years. There were biodiversity puzzle games to further boost the interest and engagement of audience and passersby. Winners received prizes such as lanyard, bag tags, and pins.
