MBCFI in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, conducted a Fire Fighting and Prevention training and First Aid training for the POs of Mt. Calavite Wildlife Sanctuary and Mts. Iglit-Baco National Park.

The training provided the attendees with basic skills on how to prevent forest fires. Participants also learned the basic first aid and lifesaving responses.

In Mts. Iglit-Baco National Park, the training was attended by 60 participants from MAKAPAKA, PSBB, NTTPK, NAGSABAK and NAGBAKAT, 7 fire marshal from Rizal, 1 from DENR, 1 from LGU and 3 MBCFI staff. The facilitators provided lectures, discussion, learning exercises and demonstrations.

In Mt. Calavite Wildlife Sanctuary, the Fire Fighting and First Aid training was held on March 28-29, 2017 which was attended by 50 volunteers from different registered POs.
