The United Nations proclaimed May 22 of each year the international day for biological diversity to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues all around the world. In line with this, the local government of Calapan City conducted a biodiversity talk held on May 22, 2018 at Oriental Mindoro National High School, spearheaded by Mr. Marius Panahon of City Government of Calapan. The Protected Area Superintendent (PASu) of Naujan Lake National Park (NLNP), Mr. Ricardo Natividad gave a talk about importance of wetlands and MBCFIs Information Education Communication Officer, Roderick Makiputin, gave a talk about the biodiversity of Mindoro and presented some photos of Mindoro endemic species.
