Paluan, Occidental Mindoro– Training on Bio-Extract and Organic Pesticide/Insecticide Making was provided by MBCFI to the PO groups in Mt. Calavite Wildlife Sanctuary. The training aims to improve their farming ways and avoid dangerous effluent from inorganic pesticides, which are harmful not only to human health but also the wildlife species found in the area.

A total of 40 participants from Samahang Bantay Calavite ng Paluan and Pangkalikasang Samahan ng Ulasan attended the training on February 26-28, 2018 at So. Ulasan Barnagay Harrison, Paluan, Occidental Mindoro.

During the hands-on training and production, a total of 23.8 liters bio-extract was produced using indigenous microorganism, fermented plant extract, fish amino acid, and calcium carbonate. For the pesticide, a total of 80 liters was produced using alum, lime, salt, coconut milk, Indian guduchi, lemon grass, potassium permanganate, mahogany seeds, camphor balls, chrysanthemum, garlic, chilis and marigold. The products can be used immediately in their farms and bio-intensive gardens.
