“Mainstreaming Innovations for Sustainable Development”
Green Convergence for Safe Food, Healthy Environment and Sustainable Economy, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) as co-convener, together with supporters from other sectors invited MBCFI as one of the participants and exhibitor on 20-22 February 2018 at Waterfront Hotel in Lahug, Cebu City, Philippines.
The summit is a celebration of the Philippine Environment movement, it highlights innovative programs and projects that contribute to the social and economic advancement of people, without sacrificing the quality of the environment. An occasion to showcase programs that promote sound environmental practices toward sustainable development which MBCFI is doing together with other stakeholders in Mindoro.
During the event, MBCFI’s Executive Director Grace C. Diamante and Virtito Natural Jr., MBCFI’s Monitoring & Development Officer, participated in the event and also setup an exhibit booth to showcase the different efforts of the foundation and other stakeholders in Mindoro to conserve its biodiversity. Around 1,000 participants supported the event. Brochures, photo-exhibit, technical publications and even Tammy, MBCFI’s Tamaraw Mascot entertained the summit’s participants and visitors from Cebu and nearby provinces. The event was really significant to provide more support for the conservation of Mindoro by linking with other CSOs, NGAs and even international organizations.
